Sheikh Rashid underlined that he and his nephew, Rashid Shafique, would contest the elections scheduled for February 8th, using the symbol of the pen, a powerful metaphor for their commitment to continue political activities even under duress. He sent a message to the people of the nation, urging them to fulfill their duty by casting their votes.

It is noteworthy that Senator Daulat Khan was the first to propose the resolution for delaying the elections, and it gained considerable support in the Senate. However, the Election Commission’s decisive response indicates a divergence of opinion on the appropriateness of delaying the polls.

He further elaborated that although the Election Commission could revoke electoral symbols, it could not force a political party out of the parliament, emphasizing that PTI candidates would still participate in the free and fair elections.

Later, the Chief Justice questioned the IG about the reason behind the police visit to Barrister Gohar’s house. The IG responded, explaining that the police received information about some advertising suspects being present there. However, upon realizing that it was Barrister Gohar’s residence, the police withdrew.
