It is pertinent to mention that appeals against the sentences were filed in the Islamabad High Court last week. However, due to the aforementioned issues with the records and copies, the court has rejected the appeals.

Furthermore, MQM has underscored that it has no desire to join the federal cabinet and will not engage in horse-trading like other political parties.
