Faisal Karim Kundi, the Information Secretary of the Pakistan People’s Party, called upon the Election Commission to hold elections within 90 days as per the constitution. He emphasized that neither the President of the country nor the Supreme Court has any role in organizing elections. Kundi further commented that the President’s letter appeared to be written in a hesitant and apprehensive tone, suggesting that President Arif Alvi might be feeling uncertain about the situation. He questioned the state of mind of Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, considering the tone of the letter.

Justice Mazhar Ali Akbar Naqvi authored the 17-page verdict, in which the court observed that the accused, Enayatullah, had sought recourse to civilian courts after thirteen years, while Azad Munhas had done so after three years. The court found no justifiable reason to dismiss these requests due to the delay. This underscores the court’s commitment to upholding the principles of justice and fairness, even when dealing with military personnel.

Chairman PTI’s own statements were found to be contradictory to the circumstances. According to the FIA, in the nine other cases, solid evidence has also been found against Imran Khan. The challan for the fourteen cases will soon be presented in the courts.

He remarked that it is quite astonishing that a political party is dictating the election schedule, referring to a statement by Bilawal Bhutto, who had suggested a specific election date.

Chief Justice Bandial emphasized that within our courts, there is no disagreement on constitutional principles; rather, the differences among judges pertain to whether constitutional cases should be brought directly to the Supreme Court or not. He credited the excellent legal representation as a contributing factor and suggested that without such high-quality advocacy, the judiciary would not have been able to make these decisions.

Regarding the upcoming elections, he affirmed that his party and the PDM would not boycott them. He believed that the Election Commission should decide the election dates, and it was not bound to follow any order or recommendation from the President.
