Referring to upcoming elections, Gohar Khan emphasized the need for fair and transparent electoral processes, stating that all political parties must be given equal opportunities on the playing field. He announced that PTI would hold a rally in Peshawar in the first week of December and stressed that if elections are conducted fairly, the PML-N would not secure any seats in Lahore.

During the proceedings, Azam Nazir Tarar emphasized that the Avenfield reference appeal was based on merit, and they were ready to present evidence. Chief Justice Aamer Farooq inquired about the time needed, and Azam Nazir Tarar requested a two-day timeframe.

Fazl-ur-Rehman urged thoughtful consideration from everyone, emphasizing that if matters can be settled with the PPP, it’s good; if not, bitterness should not be introduced into the electoral campaign. Regarding Bilawal Bhutto, he commented that past threats have been made, but if the majority does not come their way, they won’t accept the election results.

During the hearing, the court acknowledged the appeal from Chairman PTI, stating that the notification issued by the Ministry of Law on November 15, following cabinet approval, marked the execution of Section 352 for the trial in jail. However, it was asserted that this procedure did not align with the outlined legal process.

The Election Commission’s notice to PTI was rooted in the party’s failure to conduct intra-party elections, a process mandated by the party’s constitution. PTI had faced a similar inquiry on September 13, and the Election Commission had reserved its decision at that time.
