In a historic move, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed ASP Hina Munawar as the first woman manager of the national cricket team.
Munawar, an accomplished administrator in police circles, serves as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in the Frontier Constabulary in Swat. She has been assigned the additional role of manager operations ahead of the upcoming tri-nation series in Pakistan and the ICC Champions Trophy.
Despite this appointment, retired bureaucrat Naveed Akram Cheema will continue as the team’s manager.
Previously, Munawar was given a role in the PCB last year and also served as the manager of Pakistan’s U19 women’s team.
