The Pakistan Army secured a dominant victory at the 3rd Inter-Services Combat Shooting Championship 2025, winning all four Inter-Services Matches, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Tuesday.
The closing ceremony of the 45th Pakistan Army Rifle Association (PARA) Central Meet took place at the Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU) in Jhelum, with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir attending as the chief guest.
The PARA Central Meet 2025, held from October 1 to November 10, featured over 2,000 participants from the Pakistan Army, Navy, Air Force, Civil Armed Forces, and Rifle Associations representing Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and the Federal territories. Competitors demonstrated remarkable shooting skills and enthusiasm throughout the event.
The Punjab Regiment claimed victory in the Unit Firing Proficiency Match (Group-I).
- Sepoy Muhammad Irfan of the Punjab Regiment earned the title of The Master at Arms.
- Naib Subedar Umar Farooq from the Army Marksmanship Unit won The Army Hundred Rifle Match Trophy.
While addressing participants, COAS Asim Munir lauded their exceptional performance and underscored the importance of continuous skill development, stating that “mastery in shooting must remain a core objective of military training.”
Following the championship, the Army Chief attended the centenary celebrations of Military College Jhelum (MCJ) as the chief guest. He inaugurated the Centenary Monument and College Museum, paying tribute to the institution’s hundred years of excellence and legacy.
COAS praised MCJ for its pivotal role in fostering leadership, discipline, and patriotism, and honored the contributions of its alumni, known as Alamgirians, to Pakistan and its Armed Forces. He also laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada to honor the martyrs.
Upon arrival, COAS was received by the Commander Rawalpindi Corps and the Inspector General Training & Evaluation (IGT&E).
