India captain Suryakumar Yadav once again avoided naming Pakistan when asked about facing them in Sunday’s Super Four clash in Dubai, following India’s 21-run win over Oman on Friday.
During the post-match presentation, Sanjay Manjrekar asked if he was ready for the high-profile match against Pakistan. Yadav, unfazed, replied with just four words: “All set for Super 4.”
The gesture was seen as a continuation of India’s dismissive stance after the previous India-Pakistan meeting, which was overshadowed by a handshake controversy. Both captains skipped the customary handshake, while Suryakumar and Shivam Dube went straight to the dressing room post-match, prompting the PCB to lodge a complaint with the ICC against on-field umpire Andy Pycroft for “not upholding the spirit of the game.”
