Captain Afridi Optimistic About Babar-Rizwan Opening Pair Ahead of T20 Series Against New Zealand

As Pakistan prepares for the upcoming T20 series against New Zealand, national team captain Shahid Afridi expressed confidence in the opening partnership of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, labeling it as the best and one that will continue to flourish.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the first match of the T20 series against New Zealand, Captain Afridi commented on Babar Azam’s performance, stating that he doesn’t believe Babar’s form is on the decline. Afridi acknowledged the significant number of runs Babar has scored, making it challenging even for him to keep track. He emphasized that a couple of innings do not impact his overall contribution, and Babar’s consistency remains crucial for the team.

Afridi noted that the team has 17 T20 matches before the World Cup, intending to form various combinations in these games to determine the most effective players and positions.
