In a press conference held at a local hotel on Sunday, Balochistan’s Information Minister, Jan Achakzai, sternly addressed the issue of illegal immigrants in Pakistan, particularly those from Afghanistan. He emphasized the government’s commitment to cracking down on individuals involved in criminal activities, linking them to the rising terrorism in the country.
Achakzai highlighted the historical context of the situation, acknowledging that in the past, some officials within the country’s institutions had been complicit in the entry of foreign nationals across the borders. However, he made it clear that the present government would not tolerate any such activity and urged the public to report any suspicions or concerns regarding illegal immigrants. He assured that strict actions would be taken against any institution or individual found aiding illegal immigrants.
The minister acknowledged the 40-year-long Afghan refugee crisis, mentioning that those who were granted asylum years ago were now forgetting their status and engaging in nefarious activities. He underscored that under no circumstances would Pakistan allow anyone to spread unrest within its borders.
Regarding recent controversial statements made by email Wali Khan, Achakzai condemned Khan’s remarks and expressed readiness to engage with all political parties, dismissing any concerns that might arise. He stressed the importance of Pakistan moving towards becoming a normal state, free from the mistakes of the past.
Furthermore, Achakzai emphasized the significance of non-interference by neighboring countries in Pakistan’s internal affairs, asserting that Pakistan would not tolerate any external meddling. He called for mutual respect and peaceful coexistence, emphasizing the need for regional stability and collaboration.
Achakzai’s statements reflect Pakistan’s firm stance on immigration policies and the government’s determination to maintain law and order within its borders. As the nation navigates complex challenges, the government remains resolute in its commitment to upholding security, stability, and the welfare of its citizens.
