Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has responded to a recent letter reportedly written by some of its incarcerated leaders. PTI senior member Junaid Akbar has expressed serious concerns regarding the transparency and credibility of the letter.
Speaking exclusively to Dunya News, Akbar questioned the origin and timing of the letter, asking, “When was the letter written, how did it emerge, and through what means?” He pointed out that all the individuals said to have signed the letter are currently held in separate prison cells, raising doubts about the coordination behind it.
He emphasized that any decision regarding negotiations will ultimately be taken by the party leadership and the PTI founder. Akbar added that if the dialogue process proves to be meaningful, there is no objection to it. He noted that the PTI founder has always maintained a political approach and has previously approved negotiations under appropriate circumstances.
