A sense of relief permeated the subdued atmosphere of the Dallas Cowboys locker room following their hard-fought 20-15 victory over the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. With the victory, Dallas improved to 2-2, and head coach Mike McCarthy’s team demonstrated the offensive prowess and defensive solidity fans expect. Quarterback Dak Prescott threw two touchdown passes, including one to CeeDee Lamb, helping the Cowboys extend their winning streak over the Giants to seven games and 14 wins in their last 15 matchups.
“We got to change the narrative. That’s what this game did, especially over a long weekend,” Prescott said after completing 22 of 27 passes for 221 yards. “It puts us at 2-and-2. It allows us a couple of days to get our mind right, to get our body right.”
Prescott started strong, connecting with running back Rico Dowdle for a 15-yard screen pass touchdown in the first quarter. He later found Lamb for a spectacular 55-yard catch-and-run touchdown, although the play was marred by a taunting penalty against the receiver.
