Shinji Okazaki, the ex-Japan forward who played a crucial role in Leicester City’s remarkable Premier League title win in 2016, has revealed his decision to retire at the end of the current season. Okazaki, now 38 years old and currently playing for Belgium’s Sint-Truiden, joined Leicester in 2015 and became a key figure during their historic title-winning campaign. With 36 Premier League appearances and five goals, he contributed significantly to the team’s success. Okazaki, one of Japan’s prolific players, scored 50 goals in 119 national team appearances, ranking third on Japan’s all-time scoring list. He represented Japan in three World Cups and played a vital role in their 2011 Asian Cup victory.
