Surprise inspections: Marriyum Aurangzeb and Khawaja Salman Rafique assess hospital facilities across Lahore.

Senior Punjab Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb conducted surprise visits to Jinnah Hospital and Children’s Hospital in Lahore, disguising herself as a regular citizen to evaluate healthcare services firsthand. During her visits, she inspected various hospital counters, wards, and checked overall cleanliness. She also reviewed the presence and performance of medical staff and inquired from patients’ attendants about the availability of free medicines and treatment.

Her inspection followed closely after Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s own unannounced visits to Harbanspura Field Hospital and Jinnah Hospital to assess medical facilities. Based on complaints of mismanagement, Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb ordered the suspension of the Medical Superintendent (MS) of Jinnah Hospital.

In a parallel move, Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique visited Children’s Hospital Lahore, accompanied by Pro Vice Chancellor of the University of Child Health Sciences, Professor Junaid Rashid, and MD of Children’s Hospital, Professor Tipu Sultan, among others. He inspected several key departments, including the Emergency Ward, CM’s Complaints Cell, and the Medicine Store.

Minister Rafique directly interacted with patients to gather feedback on their treatment and care. He emphasized that the Punjab government is committed to enhancing healthcare services, ensuring that relief and quality treatment are delivered to patients in line with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s vision.
