South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch has officially explained his decision to withdraw from PSL 10, clarifying his stance to Pakistani cricket officials. Bosch was initially set to represent Peshawar Zalmi in the upcoming season but opted out in favor of joining Mumbai Indians for the Indian Premier League (IPL).
With IPL scheduled from March 22 to May 25 and PSL from April 11 to May 18, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had earlier announced its intention to send a legal notice to Bosch through his agent for contract violation.
Bosch’s Justification
According to sources, Bosch assured PCB officials that his decision was not intended to undermine PSL. He emphasized that he had to prioritize his long-term career prospects, as Mumbai Indians’ involvement in multiple T20 leagues worldwide presented him with greater opportunities for professional growth.
PCB’s Response and Potential Consequences
PCB is now assessing Bosch’s explanation to determine the extent of his contract breach and any possible legal or disciplinary actions.
Reactions within PCB regarding potential sanctions have been mixed. Some officials believe Bosch should face a ban from future PSL seasons to uphold the league’s integrity. Others argue that imposing a harsh penalty could deter foreign players from signing with PSL in the future, suggesting that a symbolic punishment may be more appropriate.
