Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has officially released the schedule for its intra-party elections, a crucial process that determines the party’s leadership structure. The announcement was made by PTI’s Federal Election Commissioner, Rauf Hassan, outlining the detailed plan for the upcoming internal electoral process.
According to the schedule, PTI’s intra-party elections are set to take place on February 5, scheduled for Monday. All registered members of PTI will have the opportunity to cast their votes for their preferred panel or candidate for the position of chairman. PTI has introduced flexibility, allowing registered members to vote at designated locations for their chosen panel or candidate.
In addition to traditional voting methods, party members can also record their votes through the “Intra-Party Election Module” available on the official PTI website and the designated application. The permission to cast votes will be granted to all registered members until January 31. Details regarding all participating panels in the intra-party elections will be accessible on the PTI official website and the application.
Federal Election Commissioner Rauf Hassan emphasized that the electoral procedures and guidelines are detailed in the Election Rules 2020, which are available on the official website and the application. Polling will be conducted from 10 AM to 4 PM, and the announcement of polling stations and appellate tribunals is scheduled for February 1.
Candidates are required to obtain nomination papers from PTI’s central secretariat or website from January 1 to February 2. The deadline for submitting nomination papers is until 10 PM on February 2. According to the schedule, candidates can submit their nomination papers both physically at central and provincial secretariats and digitally through email.
Scrutiny of nomination papers is scheduled for February 3. In case of objections leading to the rejection of nomination papers, the deadline for filing objections is set until 10 PM on February 3. The final list of participating panels in the intra-party elections will be published on the website on the evening of February 4, with the elections taking place on February 5. Official results will be announced on February 6.
