‘House of the Dragon’ Season 3 wraps filming, set for summer 2026 release.

The Targaryens are one step closer to returning to our screens! HBO’s House of the Dragon Season 3 has officially wrapped production after months of filming at Leavesden Studios in England.

According to multiple reports, the hit Game of Thrones prequel is now entering post-production, with an expected release in summer 2026. HBO’s network head Casey Bloys had earlier hinted that the new season would arrive shortly after the Emmy eligibility cutoff in May, suggesting a June 2026 premiere.

Unlike previous seasons, which featured filming across various international locations, Season 3 was shot entirely in the United Kingdom. The upcoming installment will reportedly include eight episodes and cover major events from George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood — notably the Battle of the Gullet.

Returning cast members include Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy, and Olivia Cooke, joined by new faces such as Tom Cullen, Joplin Sibtain, Barry Sloane, Adam Brown, and Annie Shapero.

Showrunner and co-creator Ryan Condal previously confirmed that House of the Dragon will conclude with Season 4, marking the end of the acclaimed Game of Thrones prequel saga.
