In a security precaution, authorities in Peshawar have announced the suspension of mobile phone services on the 9th and 10th of Muharram.
A police spokesperson stated that the suspension will begin on Friday, the 8th of Muharram, shortly after Jum’ah prayers. Services are expected to resume on Sunday night after 10 PM, coinciding with the conclusion of Ashura.
The measure is intended to enhance security and surveillance in sensitive areas and to prevent any potential disruptions during the religious processions.
Officials further revealed that Ashura gatherings will be closely monitored using drone cameras, CCTV networks, and other advanced surveillance tools to ensure public safety.
