Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing bilateral relations with the United Kingdom across various sectors, including trade, investment, education, and people-to-people exchanges.
He expressed these views during a meeting with Lord Wajid Khan, the U.K. Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Faith, Communities and Resettlement, who paid a courtesy call at the Prime Minister’s House.
Welcoming Lord Wajid Khan to Pakistan, the prime minister thanked him for attending the Overseas Pakistanis Convention and acknowledged the significant role of the British Pakistani diaspora in strengthening the ties between both nations.
He also extended his best wishes to King Charles III and U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and appreciated Lord Khan’s continued efforts in fostering Pakistan-UK cooperation and identifying new areas for partnership.
During the meeting, Lord Wajid Khan briefed the prime minister on his recent engagements and initiatives aimed at promoting mutual collaboration and goodwill between the two countries.
