The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted scattered rain-thunderstorms with snowfall over the hills in Northeast Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir over the next 24 hours.
In addition, light to moderate rain-thunderstorms are expected at isolated locations in Central South Punjab, South Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Upper Sindh, Potohar region, and Islamabad. Shallow fog is likely to develop in patches in some plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during the morning and night hours.
The synoptic situation indicates the presence of a westerly wave over the western and upper parts of the country, which is expected to strengthen in the upper regions from Monday.
In the last 24 hours, rain and thunderstorms occurred at isolated places in northeast/south Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Layyah. The weather remained cold and partly cloudy in other areas.
Leh was the coldest place in the country on Sunday, with temperatures dropping to -09°C.
