Pakistan’s cricket team will take on Zimbabwe in the opening match of a three-match ODI series tomorrow, November 24, in Bulawayo.
The Mohammad Rizwan-led squad arrived in Zimbabwe earlier this week following their tour of Australia, where they achieved a historic T20 series win against the hosts, although they were whitewashed in the ODI series.
The Zimbabwe tour will see Pakistan play three ODIs and three T20Is, with matches scheduled from November 24 to December 5. Notably, star players Babar Azam, Naseem Shah, and Shaheen Shah Afridi have been rested for this tour, paving the way for a slightly reshuffled team.
The selected squad features several new faces alongside regulars, with Ahmed Daniyal, Haris Rauf, Haseebullah, Mohammad Hasnain, Muhammad Irfan Khan, and Tayyab Tahir all included in both formats. Alongside them, Salman Ali Agha will also be part of both the ODI and T20I squads.
For the ODI series, the following players have been selected: Aamir Jamal, Abdullah Shafique, Abrar Ahmed, Ahmed Daniyal, Faisal Akram, Haris Rauf, Haseebullah (Wicketkeeper), Kamran Ghulam, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Rizwan (Wicketkeeper), Muhammad Irfan Khan, Saim Ayub, Salman Ali Agha, Shahnawaz Dahani, and Tayyab Tahir.
The T20I squad will see some changes, with players such as Arafat Minhas, Jahandad Khan, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, Omair bin Yousuf, Qasim Akram, Sahibzada Farhan, Sufyan Moqim, and Usman Khan replacing some of the ODI squad members.
Haseebullah, Haris Rauf, Muhammad Irfan Khan, and Salman Ali Agha are the only players who have been selected for both the ODI and T20I formats during this tour.
