Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo and midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White have been suspended, while Brighton & Hove Albion boss Fabian Huerzeler has received a fine for misconduct during a heated 2-2 draw between the teams last month, the FA announced on Friday.
The match was marked by intense emotions, leading to both Espirito Santo and Huerzeler being shown red cards. Gibbs-White was also sent off after receiving a second booking for a robust tackle, prompting outrage from both the player and the manager.
According to an FA statement, “Nuno Espirito Santo, Morgan Gibbs-White, and Fabian Huerzeler admitted to their respective charges.” The independent Regulatory Commission imposed a two-match touchline suspension on Espirito Santo and a £55,000 ($71,753) fine, which also activated an additional one-match ban that had previously been suspended.
Gibbs-White received a one-match suspension and a £20,000 fine, while Huerzeler was fined £8,000. The disciplinary actions highlight the FA’s commitment to maintaining standards of conduct within the sport.
