The Islamabad High Court (IHC) expressed strong disapproval on Saturday over the indifference shown by state institutions in the case concerning the recovery of Azhar Mashwani’s two missing brothers.
Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb of the IHC issued a written order addressing the matter. The order noted that the whereabouts of Azhar Mashwani’s brothers remain unknown, and described the state institutions’ handling of the case as deeply discouraging.
Justice Aurangzeb mentioned that the deputy attorney general had assured the court of a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif regarding the issue, but criticized the government’s response as weak.
The written order also expressed disappointment that the country’s chief executive had not given the case the attention it deserves. It further noted that partial arguments had been presented by the applicant’s lawyer, and the case was scheduled to be heard by the available bench in the next session.
