ECB unveils 2024 schedule for england men and women cricket teams.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has released the 2024 schedule for its Men’s and Women’s cricket teams, promising an exciting home season from April to September filled with competitive red and white-ball matches.

ECB Chief Executive Officer Richard Gould expressed his enthusiasm about the synchronized schedules for both teams, featuring identical opponents. He highlighted the success of this format, noting the positive reception from fans during the Ashes and Pakistan series.

“Hosting England Men’s and Women’s series simultaneously has been well-received by fans and has significantly contributed to the growth of women’s cricket. I’m thrilled that we’ll continue this approach for the West Indies and India series next year,” said Gould.

He also announced a historic moment for women’s cricket, with England Women set to face India in the first-ever Women’s Test at Lord’s in 2026. “This will be a truly special occasion, marking a significant milestone in the sport,” Gould added.

The England Women’s team will start their 2024 home season with a T20I series against the West Indies from May 21 to May 26, followed by an ODI series from May 30 to June 7. They will then take on India in a five-match T20I series beginning June 28, followed by a three-match ODI series that will serve as crucial preparation for the 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup.

The England Men’s team will host West Indies and India in a mix of red and white-ball contests. They will also face Zimbabwe and South Africa. Zimbabwe will play their first Test in England since 2003 at Trent Bridge, followed by a six-match white-ball series against West Indies, including three T20Is and three ODIs from May 30 to June 10.

India’s Men’s team will return to England for a highly anticipated five-match Test series, with the last series between the two sides ending in a 2-2 draw. The summer will conclude with a three-match ODI and T20I series against South Africa in September.
