During the upcoming Asia Cup scheduled to commence on August 30, top officials from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are reportedly planning to visit Pakistan. According to sources, BCCI President Roger Binny and Vice President Rajeev Shukla are expected to make the trip to Pakistan, following an invitation extended to members of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) and other cricket boards for the event.
BCCI Secretary and President of the ACC, Jay Shah, has also received an invitation from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to attend the event.
In addition to ACC board members, invitations have been extended to prominent figures in cricket administration, including ICC Chairman Greg Barclay, ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice, and General Manager Cricket Wasim Khan.
It’s worth noting that Jay Shah had previously denied reports of his visit to Pakistan to watch the Asia Cup match.
The 2023 Asia Cup is scheduled to take place in Pakistan and Sri Lanka from August 30 to September 17. Pakistan is placed in Group A alongside Nepal and India, while Group B consists of Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka. The opening match of the tournament will see Pakistan facing Nepal on August 30 in Multan.
