During the Pakistan tour, the South African women’s cricket team has decided to maintain equal protocols and security measures as those provided to the President of Pakistan. The team is scheduled to arrive in Karachi on August 27th and will complete their 20-day tour by returning to their homeland on September 15th.
The visiting team’s security has been elevated to the highest level, with the President of Pakistan ordering strict protocols and protective arrangements. Reports indicate that the VIP security and protocol category, known as VVIP (Very Very Important Person), has been assigned to ensure the team’s stay and movement. Roadways and streets are being cleared to a ‘zero’ point, and for their arrivals and departures, three alternate routes—Route A, Route B, and Route C—are established.
Furthermore, the routes for arrivals and departures are swept and cleared by bomb disposal squads. Snap-checks are being conducted on buildings and establishments as well.
According to sources, the protection of the South African women’s cricket team will involve personnel from the Sindh Police’s SSU (Special Security Unit). SSU commandos will be supported by the Rangers’ personnel, District Police, and other law enforcement agencies.
The National Stadium in Karachi will host a series of T20 matches between the South African and Pakistani women’s cricket teams on September 1st, 3rd, and 5th. These matches are scheduled to commence at 7:30 PM local time.
Additionally, the Pakistan women’s cricket team will engage in three One Day Internationals (ODIs) against the South African team on September 8th, 11th, and 14th. These matches will start at 3:00 PM local time.
