The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, has departed for Dubai to attend a one-day official meeting of the International Cricket Council (ICC).
During his visit, Naqvi will engage in discussions with officials from various cricket boards on the sidelines of the ICC meeting.
Reports suggest that Naqvi is expected to hold discussions with representatives from the Indian cricket board as well.
This marks Naqvi’s inaugural meeting with ICC officials since assuming his role as PCB Chairman. He will also assess the preparations for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup, scheduled to be held in the United States and the West Indies.
In another engagement, Naqvi, who also serves as the Interior Minister, met with Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmad Al-Maliki.
Expressing gratitude, Naqvi highlighted the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the latter’s consistent support during challenging times.
Furthermore, Naqvi extended thanks to the Saudi ambassador for the substantial support rendered to the Punjab government during his tenure as caretaker chief minister.
In response, the Saudi ambassador congratulated Naqvi on assuming the role of Interior Minister and conveyed his best wishes for his future endeavors. He also commended Naqvi’s efforts in expediting public welfare projects in Punjab.
