Election commission of Pakistan withholds results in three constituencies due to polling material incidents.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has taken the decision to withhold results in three constituencies, comprising one national and two provincial seats, following incidents of snatching of polling material during the general elections held on February 8.

Re-polling has been scheduled for specific polling stations in NA-88 Khushab, PS-18 Ghotki, and PK-90 Kohat on February 15 (Monday), as declared by the top electoral body.

In NA-88 Khushab, an enraged crowd set fire to the material of 26 polling stations at the office of the returning officer. In PS-18 Ghotki, unidentified individuals snatched the material from two polling stations, causing disruptions in the voting process. Similarly, in PK-90 Kohat, assailants destroyed the material of 15 polling stations, impeding people from exercising their right to vote.

The Election Commission of Pakistan has announced that re-polling will be conducted at these affected polling stations on February 15.

Meanwhile, the returning officer of NA-242 has submitted a report detailing vandalism at a polling station to the Commission. According to the report, the incident occurred after the completion of the vote count process, with no items reported missing from the material.
