Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Chairman, Barrister Gohar Khan, revealed that the party’s founder, Imran Khan, is determined to contest elections until the last moment, with a directive to fight until the end. Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, Barrister Gohar Khan dismissed those who held press conferences without giving due consideration to their tickets.
He conveyed that the party is in the final stages of ticket allocation, and a decision will be announced within the next two to four days. Barrister Gohar Khan clarified that all necessary documents for the leaders who intended to contest on their tickets have been submitted.
Accusing the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of having an undue influence over the nomination process, Barrister Gohar Khan stated that the scrutiny process for PTI candidates is being manipulated, pointing fingers at the scrutiny process and raising concerns over undue targeting of the PTI by the caretaker setup.
Barrister Gohar Khan emphasized that the scrutiny process and election proceedings need to be transparent, and he called for the Election Commission to take necessary actions to ensure fair elections.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the Election Commission’s performance, he suggested that the Election Commission should take responsibility and work towards securing transparent and fair elections.
Furthermore, Barrister Gohar Khan conveyed that Imran Khan has committed to fighting the elections until the last ball. He stressed that despite allegations and criticisms, Imran Khan desires peaceful elections and has directed PTI workers to remain calm.
In response to the recent arrest of Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Barrister Gohar Khan demanded that the Supreme Court take suo-motu notice of Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s arrest, urging the court to ensure the safety and security of PTI workers.
The statements by Barrister Gohar Khan shed light on the ongoing challenges faced by PTI in the lead-up to the elections, emphasizing the party’s commitment to participating in the electoral process despite perceived obstacles.
