Election Commission of Pakistan Disputes Pervez Khattak’s Claim of Ballot Symbol Recommendation

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has refuted the claim made by Pervez Khattak, the head of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Parliamentarians (PTI-P), regarding the recommendation of the ‘bat’ as an electoral symbol.

During a media interaction in Peshawar, Pervez Khattak asserted that he had been proposed the ‘bat’ as an electoral symbol and that his party had rejected this suggestion.

However, a recent statement from the Election Commission’s spokesperson contradicted Khattak’s assertion. The spokesperson clarified that the ECP did not propose the electoral symbol ‘bat’ for Pervez Khattak or anyone else.

This discrepancy highlights a communication breakdown between the political party and the election regulatory body. The Election Commission’s role is crucial in symbol allocation for candidates during elections, and any miscommunication or misunderstanding in this process can lead to confusion among voters.
