White house denies wedge between U.S. and Canada over Sikh separatist’s killing.

The White House has rejected claims of a divide between the United States and Canada regarding allegations that Indian agents were involved in the killing of Canadian Sikh separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar near Vancouver. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had previously raised these allegations, leading to a diplomatic dispute.

Jake Sullivan, National Security Advisor to President Joe Biden, addressed the issue and stated that efforts to drive a wedge between the two countries were unfounded. He emphasized that there were deep concerns about the allegations and rejected the notion of a divide between the U.S. and Canada.

Earlier, there were reports that Canada had requested its allies, including the United States, to publicly condemn the assassination of the Sikh leader and to point fingers at New Delhi, although this information was later corrected.
