Pakistan is a nuclear country and cannot operate on an ad hoc basis, Faisal Karim Kundi

Faisal Karim Kundi, the spokesperson for the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), has stated that Pakistan, being a nuclear-armed country, cannot afford instability, and elections must be held through Parliament.

During a discussion on the Geo News program “Naya Pakistan,” Faisal Karim Kundi mentioned that if they are not announcing an election date and remain silent, what does that imply? He expressed doubts that they might not receive the election schedule even by December.

He further explained that the Election Commission had assured them that they would provide the election schedule. Constituency delimitation is not such a lengthy process that it should extend until November.

The PPP spokesperson asserted that if there are concerns about increasing the number of seats, then constituency delimitation can be done accordingly. All they are asking for is the announcement of the election date.

Faisal Karim Kundi also pointed out that it is in the constitution that if the number of seats is being increased, then constituency delimitation should be carried out. However, it is not a process that should take until November. If seats are being added, then the delimitation should proceed accordingly, and there should be no delay in announcing the election date.

He emphasized that the entire Pakistan Peoples Party is united, and there is no significant difference between the statements of Asif Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Faisal Karim Kundi expressed confidence in the Chief Election Commissioner and mentioned that the PPP’s Central Executive Committee will hold a meeting in Lahore next week. During this meeting, consultations will take place, and a future course of action will be decided.
