Pakistan has reported its second polio case from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, bringing the national total to seven cases this year. The case comes during the ongoing Nationwide Polio Campaign from April 21 to 27, aimed at vaccinating 45.4 million children under the age of five across the country.

Prime Minister’s Call to Action:
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif launched the nationwide campaign by administering polio drops to children. He urged parents to cooperate with the vaccination teams and reiterated the importance of securing children against polio. He also thanked international partners like the World Health Organization and Gates Foundation for their support.

Polio Eradication Efforts:
Despite challenges, Pakistan is working towards completely eliminating polio, and comprehensive security measures have been implemented to protect the field teams.
