In a major development, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that the remaining eight matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 will be relocated to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), citing growing security concerns amid heightened tensions with India.
The decision was made following an emergency meeting involving PCB officials, franchise representatives, and players, shortly after reports confirmed that an Indian drone had crashed within the premises of Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, where PSL matches were being hosted.
According to the PCB’s official statement:
“The remaining fixtures of the HBL PSL X have been shifted to the UAE. Updated dates and venues will be announced in due course.”
A Safety-First Approach
Mohsin Naqvi, PCB Chairman and also Pakistan’s Interior Minister, said the relocation was unavoidable given the circumstances.
“The PCB has always stood by the position that politics and sports need to be kept apart. However, in view of the extremely irresponsible and dangerous Indian act of targeting the stadium, the PCB has taken this decision.”
Earlier on Thursday, at least 12 Pakistani cities reportedly came under drone attacks from India, with three targeting Rawalpindi, including the one that entered the stadium compound.
Fixtures to Be Rescheduled
The following matches will be rescheduled and hosted in the UAE:
- Karachi Kings vs Peshawar Zalmi
- Peshawar Zalmi vs Lahore Qalandars
- Islamabad United vs Karachi Kings
- Multan Sultans vs Quetta Gladiators
- Qualifier
- Eliminator 1
- Eliminator 2
- Final
The PCB is expected to release the revised schedule and venue details soon.
