Pakistan’s air defense systems have intercepted and destroyed six more Indian drones—reportedly Israeli-made—across multiple cities in Punjab, raising the total number of downed drones to 35 within the last three days, according to official security sources.
Of the six drones neutralized on the latest day, one was shot down in Vehari, one in Pakpattan, and four in Okara, security officials confirmed.
In a detailed statement, ISPR Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif said all hostile drones had been monitored continuously on radar before being precisely targeted. “Our air defense system has the capability to track even small drones,” he asserted, adding that standard operational protocols were strictly followed—especially considering the proximity of civilian areas and commercial air traffic.
Strong Defense Response
Military officials and defense analysts described Pakistan’s air defense system as agile and robust, noting that real-time drone tracking demonstrated the country’s ability to effectively counter cross-border threats.
Earlier, Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar confirmed that another Indian drone was shot down in Bahawalnagar, specifically identifying it as a Herop drone. He praised the armed forces for giving a “befitting response” to repeated Indian aggression.
Damage Report and Civilian Impact
According to ISPR, of the 35 drones brought down so far:
- 29 were neutralized with extreme caution on a single day.
- Only one drone caused injuries to four soldiers and minor damage to a defense installation in Lahore.
- Three civilians were martyred in Indian drone strikes, ISPR confirmed.
Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif also rejected Indian media claims alleging that Pakistan struck 15 targets across Indian territory, calling it baseless propaganda aimed at distracting from India’s own drone incursions.
