India has come under fire after killing two of its own citizens near the Line of Control (LoC), labeling them as “infiltrators” in a move widely seen as an attempt to falsely implicate Pakistan in terrorism-related activities.
The two individuals — Malik Farooq and Muhammad Deen — were later identified as peaceful residents of the village Sajiyur. Their families reported them missing on April 22, a day before the Pahalgam incident, raising serious questions about the official narrative presented by Indian authorities.
Despite the lack of verified evidence, Indian media outlet India Today amplified the incident, reporting the two as infiltrators without independent confirmation. However, discrepancies in the timeline, inconsistencies in the ground situation, and photographic evidence have since surfaced, suggesting that the killings were staged as part of a false flag operation aimed at maligning Pakistan.
Observers and rights advocates have called the incident another example of India’s attempts to fabricate narratives for political and strategic gain. The act has sparked outrage, with critics accusing Indian forces of conducting a brutal and deliberate operation to create false justification for aggression against Pakistan.
The incident has further strained tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, at a time when relations are already on edge following India’s controversial suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty.
