Ahmad Nawaz, a survivor of the 2014 Army Public School (APS) attack, has been honored with the British Empire Medal by HM King Charles III for his dedication to youth empowerment.
Expressing his gratitude on social media, Nawaz thanked his supporters and shared his excitement about meeting King Charles III at Buckingham Palace this summer, where he plans to advocate for global youth issues.
A decade after the tragic APS attack, which claimed around 150 lives, including students and teachers, Ahmad Nawaz’s resilience continues to inspire many. Despite sustaining multiple bullet wounds, he pursued his education with determination.
In 2022, Nawaz made history by becoming the youngest president of the Oxford Union, a prestigious debating society established in 1825. As a student of Philosophy and Theology at Oxford’s Lady Margaret Hall, he won the election with 517 votes, defeating his competitors Anjali Ramanathan and Rachel Ojo.
Ahmad Nawaz remains a proud symbol of Pakistan’s resilience, using his platform to advocate for youth empowerment and global change.
