Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called a federal cabinet meeting today (Wednesday) in Islamabad to address the country’s political, economic, and security situation. The meeting, scheduled for 11:00 am at the Prime Minister’s Office, will cover a comprehensive 12-point agenda.
Key items on the agenda include the approval of board member appointments for Pakistan Ordnance Factory and Heavy Industries Taxila. The cabinet will also review agreements for settling international disputes and enhancing commercial ties with Hungary.
Additionally, the cabinet will consider a cooperation agreement on e-mobility between Pakistan’s Ministry of Industries and Production and the International Finance Corporation. Approval of the Interior Ministry’s summary regarding Islamabad High Court directions is also expected.
A significant proposal for the restoration of tax exemptions on the income of permanent teachers and researchers through the Income Tax Amendment Bill, 2025, is set to be discussed.
The cabinet will further ratify decisions made by the Cabinet Committee on Privatization from its March 11 meeting and the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) from its sessions on March 13 and 21.
