Remembering Qazi Wajid on his 7th death anniversary.

The 7th death anniversary of legendary actor Qazi Wajid, who left an indelible mark on Pakistan’s radio and television industry, is being observed today (Tuesday).

Born in Meerut, India, in 1930, Qazi Wajid began his artistic journey at the age of 10, lending his voice to the children’s program Naunhal on Radio Pakistan. His association with radio lasted 25 years, captivating audiences with his rich and expressive voice.

In 1967, he transitioned to television with Ek Hi Rasta on Pakistan Television (PTV). He rose to national fame with the iconic drama Khuda Ki Basti and went on to deliver remarkable performances in classics such as Dhoop Kinare, Ankahi, Tanhaiyan, Hawa Ki Beti, Chand Grahan, Pal Do Pal, and Anarkali.

Recognizing his immense contributions to the entertainment industry, Qazi Wajid was honored with the Presidential Pride of Performance award on August 14, 1988.

He passed away in Karachi on February 11, 2018, due to a heart attack. Even today, his unforgettable performances continue to live on in the hearts of his admirers.
