A spell of rainfall across Lahore brought a noticeable drop in temperature and increased the cold, providing relief to citizens enduring dry, chilly weather. Light rain was reported in areas such as Abbott Road, Shimla Pahari, Lakshami Chowk, and Empress Road, while heavier downpours occurred on Cooper Road, Railway Station, and Mughalpura.
The rain also spread to other areas of the city, including Defence, Punjab Society, Shanghai Road, Kacha Jail Road, Kot Lakhpat, Ghazi Road, Shaukat Town, Walton, and Maulana Shaukat Ali Road. As a result, smog intensity decreased, and experts noted that the rain would help protect citizens from flu and cough by providing relief from the dry cold.
However, the rainfall also caused technical issues, with over 280 feeders of LESCO tripping, leading to power outages in several areas. Rain was also recorded in nearby cities, including Kasur, Sialkot, and Gujranwala, further intensifying the cold.
