Government Hajj applications surge to 24,266 as deadline nears.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has reported a significant increase in Hajj applications under the government scheme, with the total number reaching 24,266.

According to the ministry’s spokesperson, applications are being collected at designated branches of 15 banks across Pakistan. On Tuesday alone, 4,000 applications were submitted.

Applicants are required to pay an initial installment of 200,000 rupees at the time of submission. The remaining 400,000 rupees must be deposited within 10 days following the lottery draw.

The deadline for submitting Hajj applications is December 3, with the lottery scheduled for December 6. Meanwhile, 5,000 seats under the sponsorship scheme are reserved without a lottery.

The spokesperson highlighted the growing public interest in Hajj, emphasizing the smooth application process and efficient handling at designated banks nationwide.
