Ishaq Dar hails completion of charter of democracy agenda following constitutional amendment.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar declared today a historic moment as the unfinished agenda of the Charter of Democracy (CoD) was finally completed with the passage of a constitutional amendment.

Speaking during a Senate session, Dar credited all political parties for their collective efforts, particularly acknowledging the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) for working together to achieve consensus. He highlighted that the goal of these amendments is to ensure quick and affordable justice for the common people.

Dar also praised Maulana Fazlur Rehman for playing a key role in building consensus, while noting that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) decision to remain outside the process was their own choice.

Congratulating his colleagues on the successful passage of the amendments, he expressed optimism for its approval in the National Assembly as well.

PTI’s Aamir Dogar, who endorsed the amendments in the parliamentary committee, emphasized that this initiative is not driven by personal agendas but is a collective effort for the nation’s progress.
