The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday issued notices to the heads of various political parties for failing to allocate five percent of their election tickets to women candidates in the upcoming 2024 general elections.
Among the 12 parties notified are the Awami National Party (ANP), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Tehreek-e-Labbayik Pakistan (TLP), and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).
These notices were issued under Section 207 of the Election Act, with a hearing scheduled for September
