PM Shehbaz Sharif Vows to Eradicate Terrorism After Balochistan Attacks

Amid a recent surge of terror attacks in Balochistan, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif took a firm stance on Tuesday, declaring that there is no room for negotiations with enemies of the state, nor can a lenient approach be taken to address the escalating violence. The prime minister made these remarks during a federal cabinet meeting held in Islamabad, where he emphasized the urgency of uprooting terrorism and pledged to provide all necessary resources to the armed forces to achieve this goal.

Over the past few days, Balochistan has been the epicenter of a series of violent attacks that have claimed the lives of numerous civilians and security personnel. In particular, the province witnessed horrific incidents between Sunday night and Monday, where terrorists specifically targeted civilians, police, and security forces in separate attacks. The deadliest of these attacks occurred in the Rarasham area of Musakhel district, where at least 23 passengers were brutally killed after being forcibly removed from buses and trucks. In another tragic event, at least 10 individuals, including police and Balochistan Levies personnel, were martyred in a gun attack in Kalat.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his deep sorrow over these heinous acts of violence, highlighting that more than 50 citizens, along with security personnel, have been martyred in recent terrorist incidents. He condemned the senseless killings, pointing out that innocent people were also targeted in other regions, such as Dera Ismail Khan and Karak. The prime minister identified the perpetrators as Khawarij terrorists, who he stated are operating from across the border in Afghanistan.

In his address, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif made it clear that the government’s doors for negotiation are only open to those who recognize the constitution and the flag of Pakistan. “There is no room for terrorists,” he asserted, reiterating that the nefarious intentions of these violent groups will ultimately fail. The prime minister vowed that the terrorists would be crushed and completely eradicated, no matter the challenges that lie ahead.

The prime minister also underscored the broader implications of these terrorist activities, emphasizing that the attacks are not merely isolated incidents of violence but are part of a larger strategy to disrupt Pakistan’s progress and development. He pointed out that the terrorists’ ultimate aim is to halt the advancement of key national projects, particularly the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which is critical to Pakistan’s economic growth. According to the prime minister, the terrorists seek to create a rift between Pakistan and China, disrupt development efforts, and sow discord within the country.

In light of these grave challenges, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced his intention to visit Balochistan soon to personally review the situation on the ground. He called on the nation to recognize its enemies and stand united in the fight against terrorism. The prime minister stressed that the terrorists are delusional if they believe they can achieve their objectives by spreading terror and killing innocent people. He emphasized that the nation must remain steadfast and resolute in its determination to defeat these malicious forces.

The prime minister’s remarks come at a time when the country is grappling with a resurgence of terrorism, particularly in regions like Balochistan, where separatist and extremist groups have been increasingly active. The government’s response to these threats is seen as a critical test of its ability to maintain law and order and safeguard the lives of its citizens.

In conclusion, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s address to the federal cabinet reflected a clear and unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism in Pakistan. By pledging full support to the armed forces and rejecting any form of negotiation with those who do not respect the country’s constitution and sovereignty, the prime minister has set the tone for a renewed and intensified campaign against terrorism. His upcoming visit to Balochistan is expected to further underscore the government’s resolve to tackle this menace head-on, ensuring that the sacrifices of the martyrs are honored and that peace and stability are restored in the region.
