The matter related to the formation of a larger bench for the suo-motu case investigating Arshad Sharif’s murder has been handed over to the Supreme Court’s three-member committee.
The apex court’s three-member bench, comprising Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, and Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan, heard the suo-motu case.
During the hearing, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah remarked that this matter wasn’t initially presented before the bench.
The Attorney General informed the court that interim reports have been submitted and a document for joint legal assistance has been devised, which will be approved in the next cabinet session.
Justice Mansoor Ali Shah inquired about any judgment from the court of Kenya, to which the Attorney General replied that a judgment had been issued.
Justice Mansoor Ali Shah emphasized that there wouldn’t be any debate on the merits of the case.
Consequently, the court referred the matter of forming a larger bench to the Supreme Court’s three-member committee.
