Lahore and its surrounding areas experienced heavy monsoon rains early Friday, resulting in the inundation of low-lying areas and widespread power outages, Dunya News reported.
The downpour affected various parts of the city, including Shimla Pahari, Lakshmi Chowk, Qartaba Chowk, Davies Road, Jail Road, the Airport area, Gulberg, Upper Mall, Mughalpura, Tajpura, Baghbanpura, Garhi Shahu, Nishtar Town, Pani Wala Talab, Gulshan Ravi, Sanda, Allama Iqbal Town, Samanabad, Johar Town, and several other localities.
The heavy rains led to significant disruptions in the electricity supply as numerous feeders of the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) tripped, leaving much of the city in darkness.
