Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel recently spoke about the failure of her film ‘Yeh Hai Jalwa.’ In a recent interview with the Indian media, Ameesha mentioned that ‘Yeh Hai Jalwa’ could have performed well at the box office, but during that time, there was an ongoing legal case against Salman Khan.
Ameesha Patel stated that due to the legal proceedings involving Salman Khan, the film’s ratings were negatively affected. She believed that ‘Yeh Hai Jalwa’ was one of David Dhawan’s best films, and it portrayed Salman Khan in a more appealing light than he had been seen before. The film’s music was also excellent, and overall, she thought everything was well done.
However, Ameesha Patel expressed her opinion that the media continuously bombarded the audience with negative news, which was not well-received at that time. She believed that if the media had reported the incident involving Salman Khan in a less negative manner, the film would have been more successful.
It’s worth noting that ‘Yeh Hai Jalwa,’ starring Ameesha Patel and Salman Khan, was released on July 3, 2002. Unfortunately, on September 28, 2002, Salman Khan was arrested for negligent and reckless driving after an accident. This incident further overshadowed the film’s release.
In hindsight, Ameesha Patel suggested that if the news of Salman Khan’s incident had been handled differently, the film ‘Yeh Hai Jalwa’ could have achieved greater success. She pointed out that the negative media coverage played a significant role in shaping the perception of the film during that crucial time.
Ameesha Patel’s remarks shed light on the challenges that films and their performers can face due to external factors beyond their control. The intersection of personal legal issues with a film’s release can indeed have an impact on its performance, showcasing the complex dynamics that exist within the entertainment industry.
