On the third day of their training regimen at the Kakul Academy, Pakistani cricketers underwent rigorous gym sessions and were subjected to various physical exercises aimed at enhancing their fitness levels. Conducted at the Army School of Physical Training Center in Kakul, Abbottabad, the training sessions are structured into two parts, one before Iftar and the other after Iftar, to accommodate the fasting players during the holy month of Ramadan.
In addition to gym workouts, the players also participated in indoor games, including badminton, during the evening hours. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shared glimpses of the players’ participation in the fitness camp, highlighting their commitment to physical conditioning ahead of upcoming tournaments.
This initiative echoes a similar training program conducted in 2016, where the national team underwent fitness training under the supervision of the army. Following the rigorous fitness camp, the players showcased remarkable performances during their tour of England. Notably, they expressed their appreciation to the army trainers by performing “push-ups” as a gesture of gratitude.
The current fitness camp at Kakul Academy underscores the importance of physical preparedness in cricket, emphasizing the role of rigorous training in enhancing players’ endurance, strength, and overall performance on the field. By engaging in intensive workouts and adhering to a structured training schedule, the cricketers aim to optimize their fitness levels and elevate their game to new heights.
Through such initiatives, the PCB seeks to instill a culture of fitness and discipline among Pakistani cricketers, equipping them with the necessary tools to excel in international competitions. As the players continue their training regimen at Kakul Academy, they remain committed to achieving peak physical fitness and representing their country with distinction on the global stage.
