PepsiCo Inc, a prominent US food and beverage manufacturer, has pledged to invest an additional $400 million in Vietnam to establish two new plants fueled by renewable energy, as confirmed by the Vietnamese government on Friday.
This commitment coincides with a visit from delegations representing over 60 US enterprises, including Suntory PepsiCo Vietnam Beverage, who conducted a three-day working trip to Vietnam this week.
One of the upcoming projects entails constructing a beverage manufacturing facility in southern Long An province, with an estimated cost exceeding $300 million. The second plant, dedicated to food processing, will be situated in northern Ha Nam province, involving an investment of $90 million, according to official sources from the Vietnamese government.
Although specific timelines for the commissioning of these factories were not disclosed in the report, it was revealed that late last year, PepsiCo obtained an investment certificate for the Ha Nam facility. The Ha Nam plant was slated to commence operations in the third quarter of 2025.
PepsiCo, with a presence dating back to 1994, currently operates five factories across Vietnam. This significant investment reaffirms the company’s commitment to the Vietnamese market and underscores its dedication to sustainability through the adoption of renewable energy sources.
