Islamabad high court issues contempt notice to adiala jail superintendent over PTI founder’s meeting.

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has taken action against the Superintendent of Adiala Jail for allegedly obstructing a court-ordered meeting with the PTI founder. Justice Saman Riffat Imtiaz presided over the hearing of a plea filed by Ilama Nasir Abbas, addressing the restriction imposed on meeting with the PTI founder despite a prior court directive.

According to the petitioner, the IHC had granted permission for the meeting with the PTI founder in jail on March 8. However, the Superintendent of Adiala Jail allegedly disregarded the court’s order, thus committing contempt of court.

The petitioner urged the court to enforce strict measures against the Superintendent of the jail and to ensure that the meeting between the PTI founder and their family and legal representatives takes place as directed by the court.

Following the arguments presented by the barrister representing the petitioner, the court has issued a notice to the Superintendent of Adiala Jail for contempt of court, scheduling the next hearing for March 15.
