Attacks on Palestinians Continue During Ramadan

Even during the holy month of Ramadan, attacks by Israel against Palestinians persist.

According to a report by Al Jazeera, renowned Palestinian footballer Mohammed Barakat was martyred in an Israeli airstrike on his home in Khan Yunis during the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

Mohammed Barakat had represented the Palestinian national team and had also played matches for local clubs.

Known as a legend of Khan Yunis, Mohammed Barakat scored 114 goals in his career and also served as the captain of Khan Yunis Youth Club.

His death has been deemed a significant loss for Palestinian football by a player from a local football club, stating that he had played against Barakat and admired his skill and speed.

On the other hand, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for a ceasefire in Gaza during the month of Ramadan.

In a statement, Antonio Guterres emphasized that the holy month of Ramadan, which promotes peace and tranquility among Muslims, has begun.

He expressed concern that despite the sanctity of Ramadan, bombings, bloodshed, and fatalities continue in Gaza, urging for a cessation of hostilities in Gaza during the month of Ramadan.

The ongoing conflict in Gaza during Ramadan underscores the urgent need for peace and stability in the region, particularly during this sacred time for Muslims worldwide.
